i apologize for the boring movies (unless they are all boring then i truly apologize) you must understand that i've been working a lot and this week has been a little crazy so i make these things when it strikes me. this usually happens when i'm on the streetcar or at home looking at my cat roll around the floor.

if you know anything about me you know i am horribly afraid of flying. i work at an art gallery that is right on the harbour front and in the summer you can sit outside and watch airplanes take off and land at the toronto island airport. porter air also flies out of the airport which means i can watch bigger jets on my summer lunch breaks. i was lucky enough to catch this take off just as i was leaving work. the sunset was my original intent but everything came together quite nicely, especially the ducks that fly by right on cue. i've decided that if i see one of these planes go down i'm never going up in the air again! (i'm only half joking on that one)

i just watched for the first time since recording it and i apologize for how gross brushing my teeth sounds. i don't think i have a hollow head although it sounds like it from this recording...maybe i'll go check that out.

On Friday night our power shut off around 10pm, we slept through the night as our house slowly lost heat and tried to stay warm under heaps of blankets. Saturday morning the power was still out and it was freezing in our house. We stayed in bed until it was time for Kyle to go to work and for me to meet up with some friends for brunch. During brunch my Dad called me and put the though in my head that the water pipes in our house could burst (even though we left the faucets on). Considering all my computer stuff, sketchbooks, art projects from school, scanner etc. are all in the basement I ran home to move everything upstairs. When I got in the power was still out and you could see your breath in my kitchen. I went into the bedroom to see how the cat was coping with the loss of heat and this is how I found her. (I covered her up with the blanket of course, she's not that smart)

Having lunch at a Mexican place, I wish you could see the back of the guy's shirt who is sitting across from me. It was a picture of a lowrider and two hot babes airbrushed on to the back of his shirt and it said "Let's get it on". Behind me there were two younger girls speaking Spanish and the soda delivery guys were trying to pick them up. The younger of the two introduced himself to both the girls by kissing them on the cheeks and he continued to go on about how he used to live in Miami. "I go to clubs here and I think 'This is a club?!' Come to Miami, I'll take you girls windsurfing, take you on the boat whatever you want I got it"....did I mention he was delivery pop to the restaurant?
